School secretary robbed
On Friday 5 February at approximately 14:30, the secretary of Kanieswa School in Victoria Road, Plumstead was the victim of an armed robbery.
The incident occurred when the 53-year-old woman returned from the bank with cash meant for the school’s feeding programme.
She was approached by two males. They were armed and ordered her not to scream. After snatching her handbag, they ran towards a maroon Mazda and drove off.
The robbers fled with R33 000, a cell phone and personal documents. No shots were fired.
Police detectives from Diepriver were on the scene collecting witness statements, identification profiles and other evidence.
